Comparison features
Phase 1
Product Positioning
Score existing products or position a new concept against selected competitors.
Market overview
Select one benchmark product for the row, then tick the products to evaluate as columns.
Pairwise score matrix
The first row is the selected benchmark product; columns show the products being evaluated. Product labels show model names only.
Competitive benchmark
Select one benchmark product for pairwise scoring against the concept targets.
Qualitative fields are assessed pairwise and cached until specifications change.
Positioning index = priority-weighted competitive position
Priority: Critical 100%, Very high 80%, High 60%, Medium 40%, Low 20%, Not required 0%. General/common capability fields default to Medium. Features assigned only to other selected-use segments default to Not required.
Position: Unique 140, Leading 101-120, Match 100, Slightly behind 80, Lagging 60.
Interpretation: above 100 outperforms benchmarks; 100 matches; 80-99 is slightly weaker; below 80 indicates a notable disadvantage.
Not assessed features are excluded. Numeric indices are calculated from benchmark values; qualitative indices use cached local assessment and can be refreshed or overridden. Slightly behind means close numeric performance or partial qualitative capability; Lagging means clearly weaker, missing, or unsupported. Major capability families, such as PD, leak detection, mechanical analysis, or Ex proof, adjust the final score so added or missing application capabilities are not diluted by many smaller matching fields.
